My name is Matt Bennett, and I have worked in the Graphic Design industry since 1993 as a Graphic Artist and Photographer. I began my career with a local newspaper, where I used traditional paste-up methods and modern Desktop Publishing tools.
I soon moved on to a furniture hardware company, where I’ve been involved in the production of catalogs for both print and web. During this time I also became very proficient with product photography and photo retouching. I commonly photograph various company events. Other assignments have included technical illustrations, designing signs, posters, ads and newsletters.
Primarily my career has been spent on Apple Macintosh computers using Desktop Publishing programs from QuarkXPress to Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, Acrobat and Dreamweaver. I’m also proficient with the PC platform using Microsoft Office products. Additional experience in working with databases and digital asset management.
I earned an Associate’s Degree from Guilford Technical Community College in Applied Science in Commercial Art & Advertising Design, with a certificate in photography. I later went back to earn my BA in Business and Management from John Wesley College in High Point, NC.
In my spare time I enjoy a variety of outdoor and fitness activities, photographing people and places of interest. I have also spent a great deal of time over the years working with kids through local churches, Big Brother’s/Big Sisters and Communities in Schools.
