Barn on the Redding Place

Redding Barn-54

If you travel on Archdale Rd. in Randolph County, you go by this old barn all the time. The land formerly belonged to Carl Redding, and his son Tommy told me it is around 100 or more years old.

On the right side of the photo, you’ll see an extension that continues off the frame. This part of the structure has about all but fell in. I’m hoping the family will restore the old barn at some point in the near future to preserve it. I’m surprised that it hasn’t been added to the Randolph County Quilt Trail.

An old well house on its last leg and and nearby foundation stones are all that’s left of the original home site. ~MB
