The Flower Cross
The above photo was actually from two years ago when we had what is normally a beautiful sunny day on Easter Sunday. This is the first time in several years that I remember it raining on Easter!
There’s been a flurry of activity at the church over the course of the last week. Last weekend we had a church wide workday cleaning the buildings and getting the grounds ready for Easter. Kudos once again to “Mama Lou” for organizing all this!
The group shot above shows some of the members and leaders of the local scout troop who pitched in and helped us out. A few of our men from the church who happened to be in the vicinity also jumped in for this impromptu photo as well. One of the projects the scouts completed for us was repairing the basketball goal post, so we’re back in business on that.
Fresh pine needles all the way around
Corralling all the tools and equipment at the end of the day
Freshly groomed grounds on Good Friday
The Methodist Men also had the annual Easter Barbecue this weekend. William, Mike and myself manned the cook pits from 4 to 8 am Saturday morning. –MB
