Evergreen Academy

Upon the subject of education, not presuming to dictate any plan or system respecting it, I can only say that I view it as the most important subject which we as a people can be engaged in.” –Abraham Lincoln

Evergreen Academy-55 Evergreen Academy-45

Had the opportunity to visit and photograph the Evergreen Academy, which was a Quaker school that operated approximately from the 1860’s to the 1920’s. Dan Routh and Karen Gates both wrote great blog posts highlighting the history behind this school. My thanks to both of them for finding this gem and also researching the story behind it. ~MB
