Joppa Cemetery
Shadows cast by the late evening sun give these pictures kind of an eerie feel. Joppa Cemetery is a historic graveyard just West of Mocksville in Davie County on Highway 601.
It is significant because it’s the burial place of Squire and Sarah Boone, parents of Daniel Boone and Daniel’s brother, Israel Boone. A historical marker on 601 notes the location of the cemetery. ~MB
