Pear Still Life

Unfortunately life has got in the way of me posting on a regular basis here recently. I’ve been caring for my father who has not been well for the past several weeks. Thankfully he is doing some better now! Hard to believe my parents are approaching 70 years old. They’ve had there share of health problems over the past several years. Still grateful to have them though!

My 67 year old neighbor said recently that sometimes the golden years aren’t so golden! He’s had a rough year too with a heart attack and accidentally cutting his thumb off with a saw. I’m happy to report he was put back together and is back to his normal routine.

Enough about that – how about a photo to share! While at my parents house the other day, I set up this pear on a cutting board near a window. I’ve “peared” down my equipment here recently, so I haven’t been carrying my dslr with me. Instead I’ve been relying on my trusty iphone. This image was taken with the simply HDR app. I imported it into Adobe Lightroom (my normal workflow for all images) and made a few tweaks and here’s the end result. Enjoy! ~MB

  1. Isn’t it amazing what these phones can do!? The picture turned out really good and I wouldn’t have known that you used it instead of your dslr.
I will keep you and your family in my prayers! Been there with my mom this year myself so my thoughts are with you!

  2. Thanks Heather. Saw where you must have had a death in the family recently, but I didn’t catch all the details. Hope you and your family have a nice Christmas. Hope to see you soon. -MB
