Here are some photos from a recent trip to Pilot Mountain State Park. Hiking on some of the trails around the top of the mountain, you can clearly see the aftermath of the 2012 fire.
The forest fire was a result of a prescribed burn which got out of control and burned about 675 acres. Here’s the link to the story on WXII. ~MB
