The Lonely Cross
On my way home from work one evening back in the winter, I was searching for a place to stop and take a picture of this amazing sunset. I was on the hunt for a nice foreground interest that I could use to contrast against the sky.
But as I pondered this image today, it seemed to represent the feeling and mood of Good Friday. This picture is also a reminder of home for me. The cross stands on the grounds of Mount Gilead United Methodist Church where I grew up.
The old frame church was torn down back in the late 90’s, and the cross was strategically placed in the exact spot where the pulpit was located! This project was done under the watchful eye of Rev. Charles Walker, who was the pastor here for many years. MBShare on Facebook
