While staying in Linville Falls, I took an evening stroll down this country lane and found this small beaver pond. I caught a glimpse of one of them swimming in the creek with a twig in its mouth. This actually used to be a large pond at one time, but a hard rain some years ago caused the earthen dam to break.  ~MB
